Broadband for Norfolk
Norfolk County has received approval from the Rural Connections Broadband Program of the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (OMAFRA), for funding to enhance high-speed Internet for residents and businesses.

The project is a cooperative initiative involving Norfolk County, Norfolk Energy, KWIC Internet, the Norfolk District Business Development Corporation and Fanshawe College.

Norfolk County is one of 14 Ontario municipalities moving forward with plans to build local broadband infrastructure in partnership with the provincial government. The province is providing $1 million for this project.

"This much-anticipated announcement promises to improve rural high-speed Internet and provide enhanced community access to services while further supporting innovation in Norfolk's diversifying economy," said Dennis Travale, Mayor of Norfolk County.

"I am delighted that Norfolk County is part of this strategic move," said Leona Dombrowsky, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.
